Kellys Korner

Well I decided to participate in the Tour of Homes again at Kellys Korner Blog. Since I don't really sleep much I am enjoying looking at other living rooms tonight and decided to post some pictures I took of our living areas. I love to look at other peoples houses and even go to open houses for fun or decorating ideas if I get a chance. Anyway this tour is fun because you can look in your pajamas in the middle of the night when you don't sleep-ha! If you like to look at other houses too, go take a look at her blog!

Here are some pictures BEFORE I took the time to actually pick up the toys that usually cover this area. This living area has actually become another toy area where Ella can watch a movie while she and Sophie play and we are near them in the Kitchen.

Here is an AFTER clean-up view from the stairs to our bonus room.

Here is a shot of the TV/toy cabinet. I had a hard time deciding how to fill up the space above it from the vaulted ceiling. I eventually took 2 large canvases and covered them with left over fabric from the curtains in this room and the Breakfast area.

Here is a darker shot of this room from the Kitchen.

Here is a picture of our other living room. We mostly watch TV or play the Wii in this room. This room was supposed to have a vaulted ceiling too but we changed the plans to a double tray ceiling and took out the fireplace because we only wanted to have one.

Here is another view where you can see the passthrough to the Kitchen and part of the Dining room in the back ground.

Here is a shot with the foyer in the background.

Here is a view from the Dining Room.

This is a picture of my favorite addition to this room. The new pictures of our girls we had made when Sophie turned 1. We just framed them and hung them up last week. We used Heather Owens Photography in Little Rock, AR. She did great and the best part is they were very affordable!

Thanks for looking around!

Lindsay's Luncheon

On Thursday we had a Luncheon for my good friend Lindsay who is expecting her 2nd little girl, Sally, this Summer. Several girls got together at Scallions in Little Rock and had a nice, quiet (kid free-ha) lunch. It was lots of fun and we need to try to get together more often. We can't wait to meet Sally soon. So many girls coming soon!

Kelly's Kitchens

Kelly at Kellys Korner is hosting a Kitchen Tour of Homes. I usually don't participate in these but I've had so much fun looking at all the kitchens on this rainy Saturday that I took some pictures and decided to put up a link. If you like to look at homes like I do, take a look it is hours of free naptime fun. You can find it at www.kellyskornerblog.com I've followed her cute blog since her sweet baby Harper was born and had a stay in the NICU.

Here is a shot of our Breakfast area, highchair included.

A view from the Breakfast area. We actually have dark stained councrete floors, if you can tell.

A shot with some of the toys included and the small table where the girls sometimes eat.

A view of the pass through to the TV living room. I love open floor plans.

One of my favorite parts of the Kitchen, the appliance cabinet. It hides almost all of our small appliances including our big coffee maker Tadd loves! I like the small beverage fridge that we keep stocked with Diet Dr. Peppers, water bottles and of course juice boxes!

If you look closely to the right is our slow cooker, that's right we are actually using it for Dinner. I saw an easy recipe while looking at the Kitchen tours so we are trying it out. I'll let you know if it turns out.

To the left of the pass through is the appliance cabinet and to the right is our pantry.

Here is where we keep our cookbooks, in the cabinet since they don't get used too much!

Disney on Ice

Julie and I took the girls minus Sophie to see Disney on Ice this Sunday. It was pretty cute and all the girls loved it.

Julie told Christian during this part when Peter Pan and Tinkerbell were flying around stage, "Look Christian, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell are flying." Christian's comment back was "You have got to be kidding me, Mom they are on strings!" She is too funny and so literal!!

Trike-A-Thon

Ella's Preschool class had a Trike-A-Thon last week to help raise money for St. Judes Childrens Hospital. They had a good time but I think Ella may have enjoyed it the most. She kept saying "Weee this is so much fun" on about every lap that she made. It was pretty funny.

We have our own Trike-A-Thon in the house on a daily basis!!

Wobbly Walking

Sophie started walking! She took her time but has recently started standing up alone and taking some steps. When she falls down she claps for herself, it's so cute. We were all just hanging out and glad we were all 3 in the room when she took her first steps! As you can tell by our loud squeels, we were very excited!

Happy Easter!

I think I started this blog with Easter pictures last year and by looking at the picture of our family a year ago the girls have really changed a lot. One thing hasn't changed and that is the reason that we celebrate this day. HE IS RISEN and that is why we can have hope in life and death. Hope you and your family have a Happy Easter!!

We took probably 50 pictures today. It's hard to get us all looking. The girls are busy! Here are the best ones out of the bunch.

Do I hear the Easter Bunny in there? We had to hunt eggs inside with ALL the rain!

Sophie can open the eggs by herself and loves to eat!! We ended the day full of candy and ready for naps!!

Gabby's 90th Birthday!

We had a big 90th Birthday Party this weekend at our house for Gabby. We had a lot of family over and lots of food and cake. Ginger had a BIG cake made with two old pictures of Gabby on it. We had a good time! Happy Birthday Gabby! We Love you!!

Gabby with a few of her great grandchildren. She has 7 and 1 on the way.

Only one person missing from the party and that was Mom! I'm sure she was there in spirit and looking down on us enjoying time with family. She loved to be with family and is so missed.

The oldest and the youngest of the group (until Baby Brilee gets here)90 and 1 year! We are trying go get Sophie to walk!!

Gabby and Pop with her 3 grand girls. Julie, Me and Missy.

Some of the fun included playing London Bridges with Ella. Pop and Gabby both played it with her. It was hilarious, who says age can slow you down.

It was a year ago today that my Dad went to Heaven to be with Jesus and my Mom. I know noone remembers these dates and I really wish that I could forget them sometimes. It's been another long year of grieving for me with the loss of both my parents just 6 months a part. I am reminded that God allows us the grace to survive things that seem impossible. I read somewhere this week that in grief we can fall so deep into God's arms that it is impossible to fall. I try to do this daily and depend on God for my peace and strength. It's not always easy and I still get pretty emotional at times. I miss them both everyday and sometimes feel like I can't really believe they are gone. I have to remember that they are together and finally healthy and happy without any pain or suffering. It can be hard to remember that there are no tears in Heaven when we have shed so many. I have been so blessed with my family and our 2 precious healthy girls who keep me going and busy every day.
Julie and I took all the girls to Party Time Pizza in Little Rock today. It was a lot of fun and there are so many activities for the kids. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday because of Spring Break. I didn't get any pictures because we recently lost our memory card to our camera and our new one hasn't come in yet. (I hope we find it because there were so many cute pictures on there and I don't have any of them printed or saved, other than the ones I have downloaded for the blog.) I'm glad I did the little video for Sophie's Birthday or I wouldn't have any of the pictures.
Also there is a sweet baby boy, Stellan, having serious health problems in the Hospital. His Mom has a cute blog you can go to for updates here at www.mycharmingkids.net They could really use even more prayers and her recent post on prayer is amazing to me. His life is such a miracle already because of heart problems he had in the womb. Anyway check it out. Thanks for letting me ramble even without any pictures.

Steamboat Springs

Tadd and I are in Steamboat Springs, Colorado this week with some friends. We are here with the Lanes and the McGinty's and are having a great time. The weather is good and the skiing is fun, but lots of work. Tadd and I have not been sking since we have been together (for over ten years). We have actually been a little better than we thought we would be and stay on our feet most of the time-ha. Here are some of the pictures we have taken so far.

Here is part of the view from our back balcony.

Ski shots from the Mountain. There are some incredible views from the slopes!
